Max M. Hansmann

Max M. Hansmann is Professor of Organic Synthetic Chemistry at TU Dortmund University's Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology. His research explores reactive intermediates, organic redox systems, and their applications in energy storage and photocatalysis, employing physical organic chemistry approaches to understand reaction mechanisms.

Previously an assistant professor at TU Dortmund (2019-2023), he held a Liebig Fellowship at the University of Göttingen and Alexander von Humboldt Return Fellowship. He conducted postdoctoral research at the University of San Diego California under a Feodor-Lynen Fellowship. Hansmann earned his doctorate in organic chemistry from Heidelberg University.
