Mauro Vallati

Dr. Mauro Vallati is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Computing and Engineering, University of Huddersfield (UK). His career spans multiple international institutions, including roles as a Research Fellow at the University of Brescia (Italy) and Visiting Researcher appointments at the University of British Columbia (Canada), Delft Technical University (Netherlands), Universidad Nacional del Sur (Argentina), and National Institute of Informatics (Japan). He earned his Ph.D. in 2012 from the University of Brescia for research on learning techniques in automated planning.

His research focuses on core areas of artificial intelligence, particularly automated planning and scheduling, with applications in medicine, transportation, and computational creativity. He specializes in domain-independent planning, knowledge engineering, SATisfiability, heuristic search, and algorithm configuration.

As an active contributor to his field, he serves as a member of ACM SIGAI and holds the prestigious ACM Distinguished Speaker title. His work bridges theoretical advancements in AI with practical implementations across diverse domains.
