Maurizio Righetti

Maurizio Righetti is a Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering at the University of Trento. He holds a Laurea in Civil Engineering from the University of Padua (1989) and a Ph.D. in Hydrodynamics (1994). His research focuses on hydraulic constructions, boundary layer development modeling, two-phase flows in free-surface motion fields, hydrodynamics of vegetated riverbeds, and cohesive sediment transport.

Research interests include:

• Numerical modeling of boundary layer development in pipelines
• Analysis of two-phase flows in free-surface motion
• Hydrodynamics of hydraulic devices
• Riverbed vegetation hydrodynamics
• Density fields near localized discharges
• Cohesive sediment dynamics

He has participated in European projects including RIPFOR-Hydraulic and EROSLOPE II, focusing on multifunctional riparian forest management and hydraulic sedimentology. He organized several international conferences on river regulation and naturalistic engineering techniques.
