Maurilio Ponzoni

Maurilio Ponzoni is a Full Professor of Pathological Anatomy (MED/08) at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, where he also serves as Director of the School of Specialization in Pathological Anatomy. His professional affiliations include key roles at San Raffaele Hospital Scientific Institute and collaborations with Mayo Clinic and New York University Medical Center.

• Education: Degree and Specialization in Medicine and Surgery (Pathological Anatomy) from the University of Milan.

Dr. Ponzoni’s research focuses on hematopathology, particularly lymphoid tumors, Richter transformation, and bone marrow pathology. He co-authored the WHO classification of lymphoid malignancies and has contributed to understanding IgG4-related diseases, ocular lymphomas, and CNS relapse prevention in B-cell lymphomas.

Recent publications highlight his expertise in high-grade B-cell lymphomas, CNS-directed therapies, and rare diseases like IgG4-related disorders. His work spans clinical-pathological correlations, molecular diagnostics, and translational research in lymphomas and melanoma metastases.

He is actively involved in teaching, serving as Director of the School of Specialization in Pathological Anatomy and contributing to advanced health informatics and medical curricula.
