Maurice Zeitlin is a Distinguished Research Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). His research focuses on organized Jewish resistance during Nazi-occupied Europe, interracial working-class solidarity, and systemic inequality in the United States. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley (1964).
Zeitlin’s work spans labor studies, political sociology, and historical analysis. Notable publications include Left Out: Reds and America’s Industrial Unions (2003) and Talking Union (1996), which examine labor movements and class dynamics. His research on Chile’s civil wars and corporate structures further highlights his interdisciplinary approach.
