Maureen Eckert, PhD (she/they) is a Professor and Chair of the Philosophy Department at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She holds a BA in Honors Philosophy & Classical Studies (Hunter College, 1992) and a PhD in Philosophy (CUNY Graduate Center, 2004). Her research focuses on ancient Greek philosophy (Plato), feminist logic, metaphysics, and the philosophy of David Foster Wallace. She teaches courses such as Intro to Philosophy, Ethics, Philosophy of Religion, and Special Topics in Philosophy.
Dr. Eckert advises the STAR Center, Phi Sigma Tau Honor Society, and participates in the Deviant Logic Posse (non-classical logic group). Her publications include works on Meinongian theory, fatalism, and Plato's Euthyphro. She is co-editor of Freedom and the Self: Essays on David Foster Wallace and contributor to Exploring Meinong's Jungle and Beyond.
