Dr. Matyáš Havrda is a Research Professor at the Czech Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Philosophy (Department for the Study of Ancient and Medieval Thought). Previously, he held positions at Humboldt University Berlin (2012–2015) and Palacký University Olomouc (2002–2011). He specializes in ancient philosophy, patristics, and the history of medicine, with a focus on Clement of Alexandria and Galen’s methodologies. His research bridges classical and early Christian thought, emphasizing epistemology, logic, and scientific inquiry.
