Dr. Matthijs Punt is an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University's Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, specializing in Innovation Studies. His research explores the interplay between inventions and institutions, focusing on institutional and social innovation rather than technological novelty. He is affiliated with the interdisciplinary research platform Bottom-up Initiatives for Societal Change under UU's strategic theme Institutions for Open Societies (IOS), and contributes to the Pathways to Sustainability (PtS) research focus.
