معرفی
Dr. Matthias Zink is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Computational Hydrosystems (Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ, Leipzig, Germany). His work focuses on enhancing the mHM hydrological model for improved water flux estimation, with particular emphasis on hydrological extremes, parametric uncertainty, and data assimilation techniques for integrating satellite-derived soil moisture and streamflow data.
- Key Research Areas:
- Assimilation of satellite data into hydrological models
- Parameterization of evapotranspiration approaches
- Drought and flood analysis under climate change
- Uncertainty quantification in hydrological modeling
- High-resolution regional water flux datasets
His 2018 Nature Climate Change paper on anthropogenic warming impacts on European soil moisture droughts has received significant attention. Collaborative projects like the Bode Hydrological Observatory and participation in the 4DHydro ESA initiative highlight his interdisciplinary approach. He contributes to the German Drought Monitor platform and has presented 17+ conference papers, primarily at AGU and EGU meetings.
