Matthias Frohner

Matthias Frohner is a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at Technikum Wien's Faculty of Life Science Engineering, specifically within the Medical Engineering & Integrated Healthcare competence center. His work focuses on standardized communication between medical devices and health data integration. He is a core member of the Data-Driven, Smart & Secure Systems research group.

Research Interests: Frohner specializes in interoperability challenges across healthcare and energy sectors. His contributions include HL7 CDA implementation guidelines for Austria's electronic health record (ELGA), participation in IHE and Personal Connected Health Alliance events, and development of (mobile) software applications for clinical use. He also explores energy sector processes to enhance system interoperability.

Collaborations & Grants: Involved in multiple funded research projects, Frohner bridges academic research with industry applications through collaborative projects.

Labs/Teams: Active contributor to the Data-Driven, Smart & Secure Systems group, advancing interdisciplinary solutions in healthcare IT and energy systems.
