Matthias Armgardt

Prof. Dr. Matthias Armgardt holds the Nucleus Professorship for Global Legal History and Civil Law as well as Computational Legal Theory at the Faculty of Law, University of Hamburg. His work focuses on interdisciplinary fundamental research at the intersection of history, logic, philosophy, and legal reasoning.

• Historical perspective: Comparative study of ancient Jewish, Greek-Hellenistic, and Roman law
• Logical perspective: Development of computational legal theory using formal logic and AI
• Philosophical perspective: Analysis of Leibniz's legal philosophy
