Matthew Ward is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nuclear Medicine & Molecular Imaging Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Health Professions. He holds a PhD in Psychology (2008), a Master of Science in Nuclear Medical Technology (2017), and a Bachelor of Social or Behavioral Science in Physiological Psychology (2000). His non-academic role includes serving as an MRI Technologist at American Health Imaging since 2018. Ward’s research focuses on neurosciences, nuclear medicine, vision science, and biological psychology, supported by certifications from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board and the American Registry of Radiological Technologists. He completed post-doctoral training in Ophthalmology/Vision Sciences at UAB, contributing to interdisciplinary research at the intersection of nuclear imaging and clinical diagnostics.
