Matthew Walker is a Senior Data Manager at the Department of Public Health and Primary Care (PHPC) within the University of Cambridge. Having transitioned from academia to industry and back to academia, he leads the Data Management team at the Cardiovascular Epidemiology Unit (CEU), focusing on health data science and computational methodologies. His career spans research roles in geodynamo theory at Newcastle University and geomagnetic data modeling at Leeds University, followed by industry experience in telecoms.
Dr. Walker's research interests include data management for large-scale epidemiological studies, computational modeling (originally applied to galactic and geophysical systems), and health data infrastructure. At the CEU, he supports cardiovascular research through robust data systems and open-science initiatives.
