Matthew Tarpey is Assistant Professor of Political Science at Pittsburg State University's School of History, Philosophy, and Social Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.S. in Economics and Political Science from the College of Charleston.
His research focuses on American political institutions and political behavior, specifically examining how legislative success and elite positions impact public attitudes, policy views, and electoral outcomes. Recent work analyzes geographic voting patterns, partisan dynamics, and primary election behavior.
Dr. Tarpey's publications demonstrate consistent focus on quantitative analysis of electoral systems, voter behavior, and party politics across presidential and congressional contexts.
