Matthew Schering

Matthew Schering is a Lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He holds a BA in English from Governors State University (2010), an MA in English from Governors State University (2014), and a PhD in English Studies from Illinois State University (2022). His research focuses on writing assessment, multimodal writing practices, and the rhetoric of conspiracy theories. He also engages with digital humanities and film/visual culture studies. Schering contributes to teaching and research initiatives within the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to writing studies and rhetoric.
