Matthew S. Eichenfield

Matthew S. Eichenfield is the SPIE Endowed Chair in Optical Sciences and Associate Professor at the Wyant College of Optical Sciences, University of Arizona, and a Distinguished Member of the Technical Staff (Physics) and CINT Scientist at Sandia National Laboratories since 2014. His work bridges quantum nanophotonics, optical engineering, and quantum information science.

Dr. Eichenfield leads the Quantum NanophoXonics Laboratory, focusing on quantum networks, nanoscale photonic devices, and quantum information processing. His research integrates optical sciences with quantum technologies.

His accolades include the Harry S. Truman Fellowship (2011-2014) and the Demetriades Prize for his Caltech thesis. He is affiliated with the Faculty Center for Quantum Networks and previously held a postdoctoral position at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics.
