معرفی
Dr. Matthew Praeger is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Southampton, specializing in the integration of artificial intelligence with advanced laser technologies. His work focuses on applying deep learning and machine learning to optimize laser systems for biomedical applications, materials processing, and optical imaging. He is affiliated with research groups such as the Smart Lasers and Special Fibres group, contributing to projects funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
Key research interests include AI-driven phototherapy, femtosecond laser machining, and predictive modeling of laser-material interactions. Praeger has published extensively on topics like deep learning for beam optimization, laser cutting topography prediction, and defect characterization in extreme ultraviolet mirrors.
- External Roles: Invited speaker at conferences on AI in biophotonics and deep learning for light-matter interactions (2019-2022).
- Supervision: Advising PhD student Michael David Tom McDonnell.
His research bridges fundamental optics with practical applications in healthcare, manufacturing, and materials science.
