- M.A. in Mathematics, University of Virginia
- M.S. in Applied Mathematics, North Carolina State University
- B.S. in Mathematics, Washington and Lee University
His research focuses on nonlinear dynamics and chaos theory, particularly the application of cupolets to study chaotic systems and entanglement. He is also deeply engaged in mathematics education, having received multiple teaching awards.
Dr. Morena’s publications highlight his work in chaotic systems, cupolets, and educational pedagogy. His research bridges theoretical exploration with practical applications in physics and mathematical modeling.
- John M. Smith Award for Distinguished University Teaching (2025)
- Faculty Excellence Award in Teaching, CNU (2024)
He participates in academic conferences such as the MAA MD-DC-VA Sectional Meeting and Dynamics Days, and is a member of Project NExT (Red '15). His teaching portfolio includes courses in Differential Equations, Mathematical Modeling, Nonlinear Dynamics, and Numerical Analysis.
