Dr. Matthew G. Di Giusto is an Assistant Professor at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, holding dual appointments in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine and Department of Pediatrics at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He serves as ECMO M&M Lead for Critical Care IMP and is actively involved in clinical care, research, and education in pediatric critical care medicine and pediatric anesthesiology.
Dr. Di Giusto completed his medical education at The Ohio State University College of Medicine (2015), followed by a combined Pediatrics & Anesthesiology residency and fellowships in Pediatric Anesthesiology and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He is board certified in Pediatrics, Anesthesiology, Pediatric Anesthesiology, and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
His research focuses on perioperative management of children with complex conditions including moyamoya disease, cardiac surgery patients, and those requiring ECMO. His work addresses pain management strategies, glycemic control during surgery, lung ultrasound applications, and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on medical education. Analysis of his publications reveals consistent contributions to improving outcomes in pediatric critical care and anesthesia through clinical research and educational initiatives.
