Matthew Demmer

Matthew Demmer is affiliated with the School of Earth and Oceans at The University of Western Australia. He supervises PhD and HDR students in mineral exploration and resource estimation. With 15 years of industry experience, he contributed to the discovery of the Savannah North Ni-Cu deposit and the Gonneville PGE-Ni-Cu deposit.

Education: BSc (Honors) in Geology from the University of Durham (UK), MSc in Mining Geology from Camborne School of Mines (UK).

Research focuses on magmatic sulfide systems, petrological controls in mineral deposits, and application of machine learning for advanced geological data analysis. His work integrates mineralogical characterization and metallurgical processes to improve resource exploration strategies.

Current research projects include refining understanding of the Gonneville deposit through multi-disciplinary approaches, combining field data with computational modeling.
