Matthew Dellinger, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Division of Epidemiology at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), based in the Institute for Health & Humanity. He has collaborated with Great Lakes Native American tribes since 2004, focusing on stakeholder engagement in Human Health Risk Assessment and promoting Native American youth education through digital media integration. His work emphasizes culturally grounded research methods and community partnerships.
Education: PhD and MS from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, BS from the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign.
Research interests include environmental health literacy, contaminant trends in tribal fish harvests, and cultural-environmental interactions. He coordinates biomedical initiatives at the Great Lakes Native American Research Center for Health (GLNARCH) and leads an NIH-funded study translating environmental risk assessments for tribal fish consumers.
Publications highlight themes like health literacy interventions, climate impacts on water safety, and traditional knowledge integration. He serves on committees addressing tribal health issues, including the GLNARCH Community Science Advisory Board and the International Joint Commission’s Health Professional Advisory Board.
