Dr. Matthew Barr is Senior Lecturer in Computing Science at University of Glasgow and head of the Education and Practice section. He leads the Graduate Apprenticeship in Software Engineering programme and co-directs the Games and Gaming Lab.
Research focuses on:

- Gender balance in computing science
- Work-based learning curricula
- Digital inclusion initiatives
- Graduate skills development
Publications explore video games for skills development, software engineering education, and inclusive computing education. Founded the Ada Scotland Festival to improve gender balance in computing education.
