Matthew A. Present

Matthew A. Present, M.D., serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. As a pediatric hospitalist with UR Medicine and Accountable Health Partners, he partners with families to facilitate evidence-based care decisions within multidisciplinary hospital settings. He is currently not accepting new patients.

His community initiatives include founding the Rochester Imagination Library chapter, which has distributed 100,000+ books to City of Rochester children since 2022 through partnerships with state officials to expand early literacy funding.

His publication on Medicaid expansion's impact on diabetes care demonstrates his commitment to health policy research addressing disparities. This work bridges clinical practice with community health solutions, emphasizing healthcare access and chronic disease management in underserved populations.

Dr. Present leads the Rochester Imagination Library initiative, leveraging cross-sector partnerships to promote equitable child development outcomes through early literacy interventions and advocacy for state-level health equity funding.
