Matteo Pasquinelli is an Associate Professor of Philosophy of Science at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage at Ca' Foscari University of Venice. He serves as Principal Investigator for the five-year ERC Consolidator project AIMODELS, focusing on the historical epistemology of artificial intelligence.
His research intersects philosophy of mind and language, political economy, and automation studies. Key themes include the cultural implications of AI, knowledge extractivism, and the social history of technological systems.
Recent publications include the monograph The Eye of the Master (2023), awarded the Deutscher Memorial Prize 2024, and collaborative works such as the visual essay The Nooscope Manifested (2022). His work has appeared in journals like AI & Society, Radical Philosophy, and Theory Culture & Society.
