Matteo Fresta holds a dual academic position at the University of Genoa: he serves as a Contract Professor (equivalent to Lecturer) in the Department of Civil, Chemical, and Environmental Engineering (DICCA) while concurrently pursuing his PhD in the Department of Naval, Electrical, Electronic, and Telecommunications Engineering (DITEN). His teaching responsibilities span civil, chemical, and environmental engineering disciplines, while his doctoral research focuses on naval systems, electrical networks, and telecommunications infrastructure.
His research interests bridge naval architecture, electrical engineering, and telecommunications, with emphasis on interdisciplinary applications in maritime systems and electronic communications. The convergence of these fields reflects his unique position across two engineering departments. Current research directions include signal processing for naval communications and sustainable infrastructure design.
