Matteo Bottacchiari is a Professor at Temple University Rome's College of Engineering, currently pursuing a PhD in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics at Sapienza University of Rome's Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering.
- Degrees: Master's in Mechanical Engineering (Energy specialization), Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, Bachelor's in Physics
His research focuses on phase-field models for simulating biological membranes, particularly their topological transitions during fusion and fission events critical to cellular processes and drug delivery applications. He also contributes as a Guest Student at the Center for Life Nano- & Neuro-Science of the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Rome.
As a Teaching Assistant at Temple, he has supported the course Engineering Dynamics. His work bridges computational mechanics with biomedical applications, emphasizing the simulation of dynamic membrane behaviors.
