Matt Toegel

Matt Toegel is a University Lecturer in the Department of Informatics at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). He holds an M.S. in Information Systems (2014) and a B.S. in Information Technology (2013), both from NJIT.

Prior to academia, Toegel worked as a Software Engineer for 5 years, eventually attaining the title of Lead Software Engineer. He also founded a company while in college, bringing practical industry experience to his teaching. His courses emphasize hands-on learning, application development, and fostering student entrepreneurship to build tangible portfolio pieces.

In addition to teaching, Toegel maintains active engagement with technology through personal projects and consulting, ensuring his skills remain current. His expertise spans software engineering practices, tech entrepreneurship, and modern application development methodologies.
