Matt McGuire is the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at The University of Sydney. A Literary Studies scholar and internationally renowned novelist, he holds a PhD from the University of Edinburgh (2005) and previously worked at the University of Glasgow's Department of Scottish Literature. His research focuses on contemporary Scottish and Irish literature, particularly post-Troubles Northern Irish writing, examining themes of truth, memory, social justice, and gender politics. He has authored/co-edited influential works like Post-Conflict Literature: Human Rights, Peace, Justice (2016) and Iain Crichton Smith: New Collected Poems (2011), alongside his acclaimed D.S O’Neill crime fiction series.
