Matt Borland is an Associate Professor, Teaching Stream in the Department of Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo. He holds a PhD, MASc, and BASc in Systems Design and Mechanical Engineering from the same institution. His academic roles include teaching a wide range of courses in biomedical engineering, systems design, and engineering fundamentals, as well as advising on graduate and undergraduate projects. He is also a co-founder of the Waterloo Tape Music Club, a collaborative space for exploring new music technologies.
