Mats Johnsson is a Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at Stockholm University, where he leads a research group focused on electrocatalysis for water splitting and valorization of alcohols. His work spans synthesis and characterization of inorganic compounds, sintering of ceramic materials, and the development of stable electrocatalysts for hydrogen production.
Research interests include:
- Designing inorganic electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reactions
- Valorization of biomass alcohols like glycerol
- Ceramic composites and their sintering behavior
His recent publications highlight trends in glycerol electrooxidation, nanocatalyst engineering, and oxide-fluoride materials. Collaborations with institutions such as KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Uppsala University are central to his work.
