Mats Braskén is a Research Leader at the Department of Education, Faculty of Education and Welfare Studies, Åbo Akademi University. His research focuses on K-12 education, mathematics pedagogy, and the integration of technology such as AI and social robots in educational settings. He has been involved in multiple funded projects including SoRoMa (Social Robots in School Mathematics Practice) and Artificiell Intelligens i Skolan (Artificial Intelligence in Schools).
Braskén’s work emphasizes cross-disciplinary approaches, particularly in mathematics education and socio-ecological contexts. He has presented at international conferences like the 27th ICMI Study Conference and co-organized events such as the Nordic Conference on Subject Education. Collaborations include projects funded by the Swedish Cultural Foundation and the Finnish Cultural Foundation in Österbotten.
