معرفی
Matias Palva is an Associate Professor in the Department of Neuroscience and Biomedical Engineering at Aalto University. His research focuses on systems-level neuronal mechanisms underlying emergent brain dynamics, including scale-free and scale-specific activities like neuronal oscillations. He leads projects addressing brain criticality, mental disorders (e.g., depression, ADHD), and neuroplasticity-based interventions. Palva’s group develops advanced MEG/EEG analysis tools and collaborates internationally. Current active projects include Co-Research Palva (2025–2027), targeting personalized mental health interventions.
- Research Interests: Brain dynamics, mental disorders, neuroimaging (MEG/EEG), neuroplasticity.
- Key Projects: Developing cognitive training methods, studying Alzheimer’s disease progression, and optimizing digital mental health tools.
- Grants/Advising: Principal investigator in 29 projects, including PlaStim Y3 series grants.
Labs/Teams: The Critical Oscillations Group (website: http://criticaloscillations.org), focusing on translational neuroscience and computational modeling.
