Mathieu Figeys

Dr. Mathieu Figeys is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Newcastle's School of Nursing and Midwifery. He is a Registered Nurse in both Australia and Canada with an interdisciplinary background focused on collaborative innovation, research, teaching, and learning. His academic journey includes a PhD in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Alberta and a Master of Science from Queen's University.

Dr. Figeys' research interests span a wide range of topics including stroke rehabilitation, dementia rehabilitation, non-invasive brain stimulation, functional neuroimaging, and the application of machine learning and artificial intelligence in healthcare systems. His work particularly emphasizes technological solutions to promote healthy aging and prevent cognitive decline.
