Mateusz Pieróg

Mateusz Pieróg is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Animal Physiology and Pharmacology, Institute of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, Lublin. His research focuses on understanding the mechanisms underlying neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders such as epilepsy, depression, and anxiety.

He specializes in identifying new antiepileptic, antidepressant, and anxiolytic compounds, evaluating their toxicity, and studying drug-drug interactions. His work utilizes the zebrafish (danio pręgowany) model for seizure and anxiety research, emphasizing neuroactive substances and behavioral analysis in animal experiments.
