Mateusz Majda

Mateusz Majda is an Assistant Professor on conditional pre-tenure at the Department of Plant Molecular Biology within the Faculty of Biology and Medicine at the University of Lausanne (UNIL) since August 1, 2022. His research focuses on plant development, cell walls, biomechanics, and biophysics.

• PhD in Biology from Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (2018)
• Postdoctoral research at Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research (Germany) and John Innes Centre (UK)

He leads his own laboratory at UNIL, specializing in plant biophysics. His work bridges molecular biology with mechanical properties of plant cells, emphasizing fundamental aspects of plant growth and structural dynamics.
