Mat Johnson is a Professor and holds the Philip H. Knight Chair of the Humanities at the University of Oregon. He is affiliated with the English department and actively involved in Comics and Cartoon Studies, Creative Writing Program, and English disciplines. His office is located at 207 Alder Bldg., 5243, and he can be reached at 541-346-0547. During Spring 2024, he is not teaching.
Johnson’s research and creative work bridges interdisciplinary fields, including graphic novel studies, American literature, and narrative innovation. His contributions to Comics and Cartoon Studies highlight contemporary cultural narratives, while his creative writing explores themes of identity and social commentary.
