معرفی
Massimo Giudici is a Professor at the Department of Physics, Université Côte d'Azur, and a researcher at the Institut de Physique de Nice (INPHYNI), a CNRS UMR 7010 laboratory. He teaches electromagnetism, quantum physics, and photonics at both the undergraduate and master’s levels in the Physics Department and at Polytech'Nice Sophia, the engineering school of UCA.
His research centers on the spatio-temporal dynamics of semiconductor lasers, nonlinear optics, and photonics, with a focus on dissipative solitons, optical feedback instabilities, and delayed dynamical systems. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed articles in high-impact journals such as Nature, Nature Photonics, and Physical Review Letters.
The recent publications reflect a strong trend in nonlinear photonics, particularly in cavity solitons, optical chaos, feedback control, and all-optical information processing. The work bridges fundamental nonlinear science with applications in optical computing and secure communication.
- Full member, CNU Section 30 (2016–2023)
- LIA Solace holder, Strathclyde University (2017–2021)
- President, EPS QEOD Thesis and Fresnel Prize Committees (2021, 2023)
Giudici has supervised nine PhD students and participated in 13 thesis juries. He led the ANR PRC project Balls of Light in Semiconductor Lasers (BLASON) (2019–2023) and has been involved in multiple national and international research initiatives. He served as Associate Editor for IEEE Photonics Journal (2010–2014) and held leadership roles in major conferences including CLEO Europe/EQEC as General Chair (2019) and Program Chair (2017).
He is actively involved in the European Physical Society’s Quantum Electronics and Optics Division (EPS QEOD), where he contributes to shaping research recognition and academic excellence in the field.
