Massimo Garbuio is an Associate Professor in Entrepreneurship at the University of Sydney Business School. His work focuses on translating abstract ideas into tangible value through design thinking, strategic decision-making, and innovation execution. He holds a PhD from the University of Western Australia, an MA from the University of Pennsylvania, an MSc from University College London, and a BEcCom from UNIVE.
His research explores three interconnected domains:
- Design Thinking: Cognitive processes like analogical reasoning and abductive logic in innovation.
- Strategic Decision-Making: Balancing rationality and intuition in high-stakes environments.
- Innovation Execution: Practical frameworks for scaling ideas in complex organizations, especially healthcare and AI startups.
