Masoud Zarepoor is an Associate Professor in the School of Engineering & Technology at Lake Superior State University (LSSU), affiliated with the College of Business, Engineering, Computer Science, & Mathematics. He holds a B.S. from Shiraz University (2011), an M.S. from Wright State University (2013), and a Ph.D. from Old Dominion University (2016). His research focuses on smart materials, energy harvesting systems, and control systems with applications in robotics and structural dynamics. Key areas include shape memory alloys, piezoelectric materials, and bistable structures.
Dr. Zarepoor’s work spans experimental and theoretical studies, addressing challenges like hysteresis in energy harvesters and closed-loop control of actuators. His publications highlight innovations in soft robotics, non-destructive testing via surface wave analysis, and nonlinear dynamics of bistable systems. He has contributed to advancements in THz optics and prosthetic arm design through smart materials integration.
While no formal awards or student advisees are listed, his interdisciplinary research bridges mechanical engineering, materials science, and control theory. His office is located in CAS 131, and he can be reached at mzarepoor@lssu.edu.
