Masoud Asadi

Masoud Asadi is a Ph.D. candidate at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), supervised by Professor R. Jason Hearst and funded by the Research Council of Norway (FRINATEK). He holds a Master of Science from Sharif University of Technology, Iran, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution. His research focuses on experimental fluid dynamics and turbulence, particularly the impact of freestream turbulence on wall-bounded flows.

Research Interests: Experimental fluid dynamics, turbulence, wall-bounded flows, boundary layer dynamics, freestream turbulence interaction, and active flow control using techniques like particle image velocimetry (PIV) and laser-induced fluorescence (LIF). His work explores how freestream turbulence modifies boundary layer structures and employs active grids to control flow characteristics.

Outreach & Grants: Presented research at the 18th European Turbulence Conference (2023). Funded by FRINATEK for his doctoral research.
