Dr. Masi Noor is a Senior Lecturer in Social and Political Psychology at Keele University's School of Psychology, specializing in intergroup forgiveness and conflict resolution. He holds a PhD from the University of Sussex and a BSc (First Class Hons) from Ulster University. Born in Kabul, Afghanistan, he is multilingual (Farsi, German, Dari) and co-founded The Forgiveness Toolbox.
His research examines psychological barriers to reconciliation in conflict zones (Northern Ireland, Chile, Palestine) with a focus on competitive victimhood dynamics. Recent work explores:
- Neural mechanisms of intergroup empathy
- Decolonization of psychological frameworks
- Political apologies as reconciliation tools
Publication analysis reveals three dominant themes: 1) Collective trauma processing (2021-2025), 2) Pandemic-era trust in science (2020-2022), and 3) Organizational transgression management (2019-2023).
