معرفی
Masao Yamazaki is a Professor at Waseda University's School of Fundamental Science and Engineering, Faculty of Science and Engineering, where he conducts research in mathematical analysis of fluid dynamics with particular focus on Navier-Stokes equations. His academic career spans several decades with consistent contributions to the field of partial differential equations.
Dr. Yamazaki earned his Doctor of Science (理学博士) from the University of Tokyo. His research interests center on partial differential equations, functional analysis, and real analysis with applications to fluid mechanics. He has made significant contributions to understanding stationary solutions of Navier-Stokes equations in exterior domains, stability analysis, and the application of specialized function spaces to fluid dynamics problems.
Yamazaki's publication record shows a consistent focus on Navier-Stokes equations across more than 20 papers, with particular emphasis on stationary solutions in exterior domains, stability properties, and the application of Morrey spaces, weak-Ln spaces, and Besov spaces. His work often addresses symmetry properties, convergence rates, and the behavior of solutions at infinity, demonstrating both theoretical depth and mathematical rigor.
He has received continuous research funding from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, leading multiple projects including 'Real analytic research on the Navier-Stokes equations on exterior domains with external force' (2017-2021) and 'Construction of mathematical theory to investigate the macro structure and the mesostructure of the fluid motion' (2012-2017). His research collaborations include prominent mathematicians such as Yoshihiro Shibata, Hideo Kozono, and Takayuki Abe.
As an educator, Professor Yamazaki teaches advanced courses including Functional Analysis, Theory of Semigroups, and multiple seminars on nonlinear partial differential equations at both undergraduate and graduate levels for 2025 academic year.
