María del Pilar García Armada

María del Pilar García Armada serves as Professor at the Department of Industrial Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering within the School of Industrial Engineering at Technical University of Madrid (UPM), a position she has held since her promotion to Catedrático in July 2022. With nearly 40 years of continuous service since 1984, she teaches across Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Environmental Sciences programs at undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, having instructed 25 distinct courses including Chemistry II in the Industrial Technologies degree and Electrochemical Engineering in the Master in Chemical Engineering.

Education:

• PhD in Chemistry from National University of Distance Education (UNED, 1994) with thesis "Systematic identification and determination of cations by differential pulse polarography" (Cum Laude), supervised by Professors Santiago de Vicente Pérez and José Losada del Barrio

Her research centers on Analytical Chemistry and Polymer Science within the "Polymers, Characterization and Applications" group, focusing on electrochemical methods for polymer characterization and environmental applications. This work spans Materials Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Instrumentation, yielding 42 JCR-indexed publications (73% Q1) with 710 citations as of February 2022. Her methodology integrates polarographic techniques with modern materials science for environmental monitoring and industrial applications.

She actively contributes to the "Polymers, Characterization and Applications" research group, developing analytical methodologies for polymer characterization with industrial and environmental applications.
