María Rosa López Gonzalo

Dr. María Rosa López Gonzalo is a Full Professor at the Balearic Islands University (UIB), affiliated with the Department of Atomic, Molecular, and Nuclear Physics. She has been recognized for her contributions to quantum transport and topological materials.

Education:

• B.S. in Physics (Theoretical Physics), Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (1991-1996)
• Ph.D. in Physics, Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid, CSIC (1997-2002)

Research Interests:
Her work focuses on quantum transport in correlated systems, topological superconductors, quantum thermodynamics, and spintronics at the nanoscale.

Project Leadership:
She co-led projects like "Transport in Quantum Materials at the Nanoscale" (2018-2020) and "Spin, Energy and Topology in Quantum Transport" (2015-2017). She also participated in international collaborations such as the COST Action on Quantum Thermodynamics (2013-2017).

Scientific Awards:

• Ramon y Cajal Fellowship (2004-2008)

Teaching:
She teaches courses in Econophysics, Thermodynamics, Complex Systems Modeling, Open Quantum Systems, Spintronics, and Physics I. She serves as a thesis advisor for the Physics PhD program at UIB.
