María José Cabrera

María José Cabrera is a Professor of Languages and Assessment Coordinator in the Department of Languages and Cultures at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. She holds a Ph.D. from Rutgers University, an M.A. and M.Ed. from West Virginia University, and a B.A. from the Universidad de Murcia, Spain. Her primary roles include teaching all Spanish language levels, phonetics, Spanish linguistics, and bilingualism methodology.

Her research focuses on second language acquisition, bilingualism, pedagogy, curriculum development, and technology integration in education. She has co-edited academic volumes and published in journals such as ROMANCE LINinguistics and CALICO Journal. Her work often explores acoustic analysis of speech, assessment methodologies, and the role of technology in language learning.

Cabrera serves as an Associate Editor for The International Journal of Technology, Knowledge and Society and reviews for Protagonistas and Vista. She has collaborated with scholars like Dr. Garrett Molholt on human-technology interaction in language assessment.
