Dr. Marzia Faietti is a Visiting Scholar at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz (Max Planck Society) and serves as the coordinator of the Education, Research, and Development Division at the Uffizi Galleries. She holds teaching roles at the Postgraduate Schools in Art History of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (Milan) and the University of Bologna, where she teaches Theory and Methods of Art Criticism and History of Drawing, Engraving, and Graphic Design, respectively. She is a member of the Editorial Boards of journals like Print Quarterly, Nouvelles de l'estampe, and Rivista d'Arte.
Her research spans post-Tridentine Ferrarese painting, Bolognese and Emilian graphics (15th–19th centuries) with contemporary art perspectives, and central Italian drawing and painting (15th–16th centuries). She specializes in Andrea Mantegna and Parmigianino's graphic language, 16th-century Italian erotic engraving, and the ut pictura poēsis concept in Raphael's works. Her interdisciplinary Progetto Linea (with Gerhard Wolf) explores the graphic sign's theoretical implications across civilizations.
She has served as president of the Italian CIHA Committee since 2013, vice president of the CIHA International Bureau, and president of the Magnani Foundation's Scientific Committee since 2017. Her career includes organizing international conferences, curating global exhibitions, and delivering lectures at institutions like the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa and École Pratique des Hautes Études.
