Associate Professor Mary Myla Andamon holds a position at RMIT University's School of Property, Construction and Project Management, where she leads the Sustainable Building Innovation Laboratory (SBi Lab). Her academic career spans roles from Research Fellow (2010) to her current role since 2025. Prior to academia, she worked as a Project Coordinator in architectural practices and as a registered architect in the Philippines.
Her research focuses on building science, emphasizing energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality (IEQ), and urban microclimates. Methodologies include empirical studies and participatory action research, addressing climate challenges and building performance. She teaches in the Master of Energy Efficient and Sustainable Building program and undergraduate Construction Management, integrating research insights with industry practices.
Notable contributions include investigating high-rise social housing thermal performance, circular building strategies, and ventilation systems in schools and aged care facilities. Awards include the Adelaide Research Scholarship (2001-2004) and the Brenda Nettle Prize (2004).
