Mary Matthews

Mary Matthews is a Lecturer in Ultrafast Science at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Imperial College London. She holds a Royal Society University Research Fellowship and is affiliated with the Frontiers of Ultrafast Measurement, Quantum Optics and Laser Science Group, and The Light Community. Her primary research focuses on high-intensity laser-matter interactions, including strong-field processes in condensed matter, XUV radiation generation for time-resolved spectroscopy, and laser filamentation.

Research interests span Optical Physics, Atomic/Molecular/Plasma Physics, and cross-disciplinary fields such as Theoretical and Computational Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. She contributes to advancements in ultrafast measurement techniques and laser technology applications.
