Mary Lopez

Mary Lopez, PhD, RN, is the Dean of the College of Graduate Nursing at Western University of Health Sciences. She is also a Nurse Scientist at Presbyterian Intercommunity Health System, with over 25 years of diverse experience in critical care, medical-surgical nursing, administration, education, and clinical staff development.

Dr. Lopez specializes in translational research, simulation, and healthcare for vulnerable populations, particularly within the Latino community. Her research includes studies on quality of life and coping styles in recently immigrated Mexican American breast cancer survivors and interprofessional learning in nursing students.

She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and Alpha Chi honor societies and has been teaching second-career students since 2004 at both pre-licensure and graduate levels.
