Mary Kelley is a Research Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Emory University. She holds roles as Director of Biostatistics for the VA National Center for PTSD and previously served as Director of Biostatistics for the Division of Informatics and Health Services Research in the Department of Anesthesiology at Emory School of Medicine (2017-2024). Her work spans psychiatric research, health services analysis, and methodological advancements in statistical modeling.
Education: Ph.D. and M.S. from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health, and B.S. from the University of Pittsburgh.
Research interests include imaging applications in mental health, statistical modeling of behavioral data (focusing on ordinal data and latent constructs), and longitudinal response assessment. She specializes in depression and schizophrenia treatment studies, including genetic/immune biomarkers, substance use impacts, and intervention trials. Her recent work involves predictive models for ICU mortality using TeleICU data and PTSD treatment decision tools.
Notable affiliations include the VA Pittsburgh Center for Health Equity and Research Promotion (CHERP) and leadership in biostatistics for multidisciplinary research teams. Her methodological contributions address challenges in zero-inflated behavioral scales and categorical data analysis.
